Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor at WPDE-TV. She later became a morning news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. O'Dell's stories in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. This led to state authorities issuing more strict rules in these instances. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with an award for the Best Report of the year Award for the entire South Carolina media. O'Dell, after her stint in Charleston as a reporter and co-anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV station prior to moving into Access Hollywood where she is an anchor and reporter on weekends. Additionally, she is an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She co-hosted several of Pre-ShowArrivals programs to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Also, she co-hosted Miss USA's pageant as in addition to the Miss Universe Pageant.
